I've heard many stories about people with IBS going to a Health Care Provider only to be disappointed by their experience. With mostly IBS-C symptoms of gas, bloating, occasional constipation, and fatigue - I'd hate to waste the time and money only for a doctor to tell me it's "just IBS" and suggest to me that I monitor my diet (which I've already been doing). Background: I've struggled with symptoms for about 3 years and I've noticed a dramatic increase within the last 6 months. I've tried so many things such including an elimination diet, over the counter supplements, acupuncture, fiber increase (which makes symptoms worse), plus I exercise 4x a week and drink plenty of water. At this point, I'm thinking I might order an online food sensitivity test over going to a HCP and just continue to monitor my diet. BUT I'm also super willing to shell out the cash to see a specialist if someone can convince me that their experience with IBS was dramatically influenced by a visit to a HCP. Open to anything at this point!
