Why is this?

Hello, I was diagnosed with IBS 2 weeks ago so still learning. I was constipated for a week and now know the reason why and I opened my bowels 2 days ago..relief. My main query is I am not in any pain at all..not that I want it.. Could I be suffering with IBD and not IBS? Thanks.

  1. I think the best bet is to see a rheumatologist who deals with IBS and specificially. Also, IBS can present in a number of different ways like IBS-D and IBS-C or even IBS-M, that may or may not mimic symptoms of IBD as well. If you cannot find a rheumatologist in your area you may be able to ask the community members here for help and see if any of them might have info! 2. hi Daniel, Thanks for your reply,I don't have any pain at all this is why I am confused,my doctor told me I had IBS but no added letters or numbers.Another blood test showed I am anaemic so I have to phone him tomorrow about that. So it could be reumatics with me? I'll tell the doc tomorrow, thanks so much.

    1. WIth no symptoms it can be hard to tell what it is for sure. My illness is rheumatoid arthritis but I never showed up on any blood tests and I STILL don't after forty years of having it! It is still only their 90% best guess that I have RA and my rheumatologist even suggests sometimes I just may have some unnamed illness that is just extremely similar to RA. It is frustrating for sure but eventually you will find a doc who will just start trying to treat your symptoms as they come along and hopefully that will be good enough!
