Beginning of ibs

Hi everyone! I’m new here I’m 21 years old.. 2 weeks ago I went to my gp as I’ve been experiencing ibs symptoms (ibs-C) I don’t know much about it.. But my gp asked me to do a stool sample and book in for blood tests to check it’s nothing more serious.

Today my stool test came back I got this message “attached” from my gp so I phoned them and they said my stool was abnormal and that after my blood tests (on Monday) results come back I will get a phone call of the gp on Thursday about my results.

Did anyone suffering with ibs go through a similar experience. I have been left feeling very anxious over this weekend not knowing what it is wrong with me. Surely if it was anything really serious they wouldn’t leave me for another 6 days?

Thanks in advance

  1. That has to be quite unnerving waiting to find out what's going on. I have not experienced anything like this but I wanted to let you know that we are here if you need a support system. Hoping the next few days fly by quickly with as little stress as possible. Please let us know how things turn out. -Amy, Irritablebowelsyndrome.net Team Member

    1. I'm so sorry that your GP isn't giving you any information. Is there any way that you could call them again and explain that you're extremely worried and would like to at least have an idea of what they found?
Many people in this community went through all the tests without getting any answers at all. The fact that they found something might mean that you'll at least know what's causing your symptoms and might be able to treat them better. I really hope you'll get some answers very soon. Please keep us updated.
