Over 70s constipation and other anus issues.

Over the last few years, going to empty my bowels urge has practically gone. I sometimes wiggle my self on the toilet seat in the hope of pushing out my stool. Due to this I have piles and also fissures inside my bottom.
I have tried Fibre drinks and now trying Movicol to soften my stools.
Does anyone have any tips how to get the rytham back into the colon so emptying bowels becomes normal? I never have diarrhea, but I now find that going to empty bowels is stressing me out.

  1. Hi , this sounds really painful and frustrating! I'm sure it leaves you feeling incredibly uncomfortable! I think many of our community members can relate to this. You are definitely not alone!
My first thought when reading your post was that you might benefit from doing pelvic floor therapy to help train your system to empty effectively. Here's an article about how folks with IBS have used pelvic floor therapy to relieve their symptoms: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/pelvic-floor-therapy
