Laxative treatment to stop IBS reaction

I recently had to prep for a sigmoidoscopy with a laxative and fleet enemas, and no food for almost a day. After this prep and my procedure, I started back to eating normally. That was a day and a half ago and I'm back to normal. I might try the laxative along with eating less for a short time to alleviate the symptoms. Any ideas? Thanks!

  1. You are not the only one dealing with that for sure. You can check out this article to start that may give you some ideas: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/constipation-battle So many of our members deal with and have found many different and novel ways to battle through. 2. Thank you for your reply! Reading more about this it looks like lots suffer from constipation. I'm sorry they do but hope they find relief. I haven't myself, but wondered if laxatives could speed up the end of a non-constipated IBS episode just by cleaning you out. I only ask because my laxative prep for my sigmoidoscopy seemed to help end a couple of bad IBS days.
