I like a couple of beers when socialising with my friends but any drink with fizz in it causes me to belch uncontrollably.
The last time I had some beer I felt nauseous and bloated, and suddenly thought I was going to throw up (I wasn't drunk, as I don't drink enough to get drunk).
Thinking I was really going to throw up, I had to stand up and I knew it was going to happen. I involuntarily stooped forward but I didn't throw up, all that came out was an enormous burp and then I immediately felt better.
Everyone was as shocked as I was and we all laughed. They said that was the loudest burp they'd ever heard, and I didn't force it out or anything.
I never do force any burps out. If one is stuck I just sit up straight or rub my upper stomach or gently thump my chest until it comes.
It'd like to drink carbonated beverages more but it just makes me burp nonstop, or it builds up in my stomach and causes me to feel sick or painful if it doesn't come out straight away. Then I end up letting out a massive burp that can be embarrassing if I'm in public, but I can't help it.
Do you have to avoid carbonated beverages too?
