Hilarity at a Restaurant

Over the weekend, I went to quite a posh restaurant with my friends, and I ordered a huge beef stew. I'd overindulged, and when I was finished, I felt rather sick and had indigestion across my chest. I sat quietly for a while until my friends asked me if I was okay.

I said I felt sick and got up to go to the bathroom, but as I stood up, I felt this huge pressure coming and I involuntarily leaned forward over the table and uncontrollably let out a massive burp.

The restaurant fell quiet

Then everyone began clapping. It was quite embarrassing, but a few minutes later, the chef came out and started walking over to me. He shook my hand and said he was impressed by my huge burp, and it was a compliment to him because the beef stew was the chef's special for that day. I did a couple more smaller burps when he was praising me, and then he said he'll offer half the price I'd paid for the meal back to me!

My burps got me a discount!

So I had a discount because I burped! Really, it's a true story. We decided not to go back there for a while as I still feel a bit embarrassed by the attention I had received, but it was still so funny that my friends and I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the day. They said I should belch loudly in every restaurant! But I can't control how loud my burps come out, and normally I don't belch that loud after a meal.
