Left side sleeping and coping

Does anyone else suffer when lying on your left side. All reports state that this is the best position for healthy gut and organs however I fall asleep and wake up gagging and stomachache. My ibs is predominantly in my left bowel however recently the whole of my stomach is angry. I take omeprazole for gastritis. I just want to feel 100 percent and never do. It's so miserable as I don't even want to go on holiday anymore. How can I calm this down? Ive tried meditation, exercise, breathing, smaller meals, i don't eat before bed. Im not overweight and I eat sensibly. No matter how much i help myself nothing works .

  1. Believe it or not, we do have some community info on this: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/forums/left-side-sleeping It is something that comes up a lot, it seems, with others who deal with and live with IBS. Hopefully that link gives you at least a place to start in your left side sleeping journey! As always, remember, you are not alone, and if there's anything else we can do to help, let us know! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

  2. Did you ever try sleeping on your right side or your back?

  3. Absolutely, I was just curious if anyone else had problems with their stomach when on left side. It's meant to be the healthiest way to sleep
