Hi, I can't control it as well and it really is impacting my social life since high school to uni. I can relate it's horrible you're always having to pass up so many opportunities and never justify the reason.
A low fodmap diet is low on difficult to digest sugars/carbohydrates so in theory the food we eat should be well digested before passing through to the bad bacteria in our small intestines. They will release less by-product gas like hydrogen/methane saving you the excess gas, bloating and cramping. The problems is it works for some and for some it doesn't. With a hospital dietitian she recommended the monash University fodmap app you can download from appstore and told me to stick to that and then you reintroduce foods. I've tried every food there but can't rid my gas to start that phase so this didn't work for me. It's worth checking for h.pylori test and sibo. I was positive for them both but still have the gas. This is so depressing and no doctor ever takes you seriously because you look healthy. I'm cheerful and optimistic so it's not stress causing it. Maybe it's a food intolerance but how do I work that out? I've been eating fish and rice( the only thing that doesn't cause you gas) for 2 weeks now to see if it makes a difference but no
