fainting feelings, weakness, digestion

Hi, i have digestive problems, the symptom are mainly fainting feelings or extrem weakness, it happen if i dont eat for a period of time ( i always have food on myself to avoid a crisis ).

I have a stectoral stasis, but go to toilet every day, 2 days or 3 days depending on what i eat.

The symptoms happen during the day mostly, evening and night it get better because i feed myself the whole day.

If i go to toilet every 3 days i have less symptoms and less intense.
If i take laxative or fiber the symptoms get worse, then i go to toilet every day.

I need your advices because its hell

thanks guys

  1. Hi , I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I used to get really dizzy if I didn't eat for a while, and it was due to me eating mostly carbs which caused my blood sugar to spike and the crash, leaving me feeling dizzy and weak. Now, I always try to eat more protein with every meal and it makes a huge difference. However, as soon as I start eating mostly carbs again (such as during flares where I rely on white rice), I still get the same effect.
I'm not sure if the same could be happening to you? How is your diet looking?
I hope other community members will share their experiences soon.

    1. When an episode start i can have empty belly feeling or movement inside, with the fainting feelings and extrem weakness.

the only way i find to get better is to eat, or it will get worse and worse.

Near the end of the episode i usually blurp and fart many times, pee a lot too.

A couple years ago i would eat and after 10 minutes i will blurp and feel better, now the crisis are much longer like 1 hour

i have stop eating fruits and vegetables since 2 month and it's better but i'm still sick

before i was eating vegetable every day

my new diet since 2 month is potatoes, chiken in slices (easier to digest), eggs, yogurt
i eat the same thing every day , i know it's bad

      1. I don't think it's that bad to eat similar foods every day if your meals are balanced, but you could always reach out to a dietitian to make sure that you're getting enough nutrients. I also eat very similar foods throughout the week and it doesn't cause any issues.
Have you had any tests done to determine what causes those episodes? What does your doctor say about it?
Since you mention that this started a couple of years ago and got worse: could you have developed a food intolerance that's getting worse over time? This happened to me with gluten. At first I only got mild symptoms from it, then over time my skin was breaking out every time I had wheat, until finally it started making me really sick.
I'm also wondering if this could be due to an infection of some sort. Obviously I'm not an expert, I'm just sharing what comes to mind.
I really hope you'll get some answers soon and will start feeling better. It's so hard to feel sick all the time. Wishing you all the best, Karina (team member)

    2. blood test say i miss some iron and vitamin D but i dont think it's what trigger the episodes, i feel like i eat to push inside the digestive tube or it get stuck and im going to faint

      1. I could imagine that iron deficiency could be partly responsible for feeling weak. Are you currently taking iron and vitamin D supplements? We have a couple of articles about those deficiencies and IBS, I'm going to link them here: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/iron-deficiency-anemia, https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/vitamin-d-ease-symptoms, https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/vitamin-d-deficiency. There definitely seems to be a link between the two for some people.

    3. It look like roemheld syndrome but with fainting

      1. Have you talked to your doctor about that? Maybe it would be worth seeing other specialists to see if there could be a connection like that? Karina (team member)
