New to this

Hi all😊 I'm guessing my Doctor sent me this site. I've had diarrhea for 20 years. Very rarely did I have a normal stool. Just recently I have started having normal stools after having a kenalog shot for my MS 3 or 4 months ago. I was diagnosed with MS just about 2 years ago. The diarrhea started out when I went to urinate the diarrhea just happened. I didn't even know I was deficating until I was finished peeing. This happened for several weeks. Has anyone else experienced this.

  1. I'm so sorry you've been dealing with this for so long. While we wait for other community members to share their experiences with you, I wanted to link this article about IBS and MS: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/stories/ibs-ms. I'm also tagging our advocate who deals with MS in addition to her IBS as well.
Since starting the medication, do you still experience this unexpected diarrhea?

    1. that's been 5 months ago

    2. That's amazing! Did you mention this to your doctor? Maybe the shot also reduced some inflammation in your gut. In any case, it's always nice when the treatment for one illness has positive effects other symptoms as well!
All the best, Karina (team member)

  2. Yikes, sorry to hear! I'm a male so I can't say I've experienced that. But I have had Diarrhea which felt like I was peeing out that end instead. Sorry for the details. Dehydrates you pretty quick.

Sometimes it's a virus your body is simply getting rid of (that's why they say don't take immodium if its a virus, you don't want to stop the diarrhea). But most of the time its a trigger food or a flare up that causes it

    2. I never had any kind of symptoms like it was a virus. It was strange. No stomach cramps or gurgling.

  3. Thank you Karina
