Picolax

I have a CT Colonscopy tomorrow and took the advised prep at 8am (picolax laxative) . I opened bowels just as normal at 10am. Took the second sachet at 2.45pm. I haven't opened my bowels yet. Should I be worried or can it take this long. I took this 7 years ago and it took a while but not this long. It was very explosive and certainly cleared me out last time.

  1. So following on from this, the picolax and gastrografin started working from 4pm yesterday. I had my ct colonoscopy today. I should get results this week. I'm worried as I'm still visiting the loo , not urgently but it's still pouring out . Has anyone experienced this for over 24hours? I'm eating and I feel OK apart from the wind caused by the procedure of putting air into my back passage to fill the stomach for clear images.

    1. Glad your procedure went okay. How are you doing since this post? Are you still experiencing diarrhea? I think if it is going on for more than 48hours definitely let your doctor know. For me personally, usually after the procedure I typically still go a bit for a couple of hours but it subsides. -Elizabeth (team member)

  2. Hi Elizabeth thank you for your reply. I finally stopped going late last night. My stomach is still rumbling like thunder after the air from the scan. I'm feeling OK today. I probably won't open my bowels for over a week now after that clear out. I so wish there was a cure for this ibs.

    1. So glad you are doing better and feeling okay today. And yes, I agree. If only there was a cure. Rest up. Big hugs to you, Elizabeth (team member)
