Hi , I'm so sorry that your IBS returned. Stress can be a huge trigger. In my personal experience, stress will cause me symptoms no matter what I eat. However, temporarily adjusting my diet helps a lot to minimize those symptoms. For my IBS-D, I will try to eat mostly rice and some type of meat, avoid too many vegetables and fruits, etc. Herbal tea also helps me. The Low FODMAP diet can be a great place to start, especially if you haven't experimented with your diet before. In the end, you might find that you're fine with some high FODMAP foods but it can help you pinpoint which foods trigger your symptoms. A food diary is great for that as well: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/food-journal-download. Regarding your question about foods not triggering any symptoms before: everyone is different, but for me, I can eat almost anything except gluten when I'm not stressed or anxious. When I am, however, I need to be much more careful with food. I hope this helps. Karina (team member)
