Yes I know how frustrating and horrible it is at first, when you aren't sure what you can eat or not. Keep a strict food and drink diary, and check out the LOW FODMAP diet. Some of those low Fodmaps might work for you? I found many of them did, some of them didn't, and oddly, in the end some HIGH Fodmaps were fine for me!
It really is a lot of trial and error based on your instincts about a certain food (for instance as soon as this started, before I had any research or education about IBS, I just immediately sensed some foods were a definite No!!....such as onions, and unfortunately in my case also tomatoes.)
The 'trial and error' bit can be no fun, but it seems to be the best way to tell what suits you and what doesn't, and we are all so different so there are no rules fixed in stone.
Don't be scared. I know it's easy to say but I have been scared myself, and there often is a path through all this, with careful management. Eat pretty bland home prepared ood until your gut settles some more. With the "D", slightly binding foods were best in a bad flare, but I found I could include small portions of one or two veggies that suited me.
I hope you will feel a bit better soon. Take care.
