IBSC and digestive issues

Does anyone have indigestion when eating? I try to stay away from the trigger foods but when I do eat, I can't eat much as I feel full and nauseous. I've been losing weight and I need to gain weight being 70 years old I certainly don't want to look skinny and old. But I am worried about why I'm losing weight and how to eat food for good health and not to flare up may IBS C

  1. Eating healthy fats helped me a lot. Coconut oil, avocado, almond butter, nuts. Adding that into your diet regularly will offer you some good weight, at least it did for me. -Elizabeth (team member)

    1. Thank you Elizabeth. I do eat avocado every day and nuts. will have to add coconut oil and almond butter to my diet.

      1. Whenever I feel nauseous, it is my gut working on pushing stool along for a bowel movement. The BM might happen quickly, or in a few hours, or the next day, or the day after, or the day after that! Ugh. As soon as I clean out, the nausea disappears.

I like Elizabeth's suggestion of adding more fat. I became a vegetarian this year and I eat cruciferous veg like Brussels sprouts and broccoli, green pepper, as well as lots of other kinds of veg. I use olive oil to roast some of these. Coconut oil and coconut milk when I make squash soup. But no fats otherwise.

I love how we exchange ideas here, we learn so much from each other that we wouldn't find out otherwise! Yay us! In solidarity, Kim
