Do you have an IBS flare box?

A flare box, or a toolkit, is filled with self-care items to help make you feel more comfortable throughout the flare.

Whether it's an actual box, or just a list of go-to-items, what helps you feel better during a flare?

  1. During a flare I always have the following:
    1. Feminine pads
    2. Wipes
    3. Extra Underwear
    4. Heating Pad
    5. Warm blanket
    6. Essential Oils
    7. White noise

    1. For me it's
      - herbal tea (preferably something with chamomile in it),
      - comfortable clothing that doesn't press on my belly
      - a blanket, if I'm able to lie down between bathroom trips
      - a heating pad.

      1. Not only have I managed to secure a 'flarebox', but also have an ER box for inclement weather and I'll need to evacuate! I'll grab my Humira, slap it into the cooler thats inside this ER box and layer it up with ice packs; but not damaging my Humira.
I also practice a scenario and learn from it. NEVER too prepared🫣

        1. Wow, it sounds like you really are prepared, that's great! Thank you so much for sharing. Karina (team member)

      2. I have in the boot of my car :

Chamber pot lined with plastic poo bag
        Bottle of water for cleaning
        Change of underwear
        Spare overcoat
        Old newspapers

        1. Thank you so much for sharing! That sounds like a good emergency kit to have. Karina (team member)
