Have you tried a gluten-free diet to help manage IBS symptoms?

If you've tried to go gluten-free, what was your experience? Was it helpful? Challenging? Worth it?

Share your experiences below, including any mealtime ideas and/or food inspiration.

  1. Yes I have been gluten free now for over 4 years. I had improvement in my IBSD when I undertook the Lee Holmes Heal Your gut diet. Lee proposes going gluten free. This is an interesting article. Just a note gluten free does not mean all the sugar rich gluten free products available but home cooked meals.

Zonulin and permeability of the gut lining.

This study proved that wheat gluten activates signalling by zonulin (a protein responsible for modulating the structure and permeability of the gut lining) in a way that creates permeable holes in the gut lining) - leaky gut.
I am not a doctor just fascinated after working in scientific research for many years. I did a lot of research on my own IBS and I am almost healed.

    1. I have followed a gf diet..on and off for almost 15 years. It usually helps.

    2. That's great! Is there a particular reason why you start eating gluten again once in a while if you feel better without it? Or do you feel like you're okay with it sometimes? Karina (team member)

  2. Thank you Karina. I have written and published a book on my experience with IBS and how I healed myself. I used mindset, diet meditation and much more. Since healing myself I am now a qualified Health & Wellness coach. Please let me know if I can give a summary of my book or the link? I know how isolating IBS can be. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas. Linda Payne

    1. What is the name of this book?

  3. Hi Karina 7 Steps to Heal Yourself from IBS. Linda Payne

    1. Where would I post a summary?

      1. If you want, you could post a story here: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/stories. I just want to note that stories must be original, so you can't copy and paste a text used elsewhere. I'm looking forward to hearing about your journey! Karina (team member)
