Does taking a narcotic pain med change the type of IBS you experience?

I recently had a tooth pulled. I was prescribed penicillin to prevent infection, and ibuprofen 800 mg tabs and Tylenol 3 (w/codeine) to manage pain. The first night I took Tylenol 3, my IBS-C turned into IBS-D. Opioids usually constipation me, but this one caused diarrhea! I stopped taking it, and hopeful that my stool will become solid again soon. How do narcotics affect your IBS?
