CBD for IBS

Hello, I have IBS that is largely driven by anxiety where any type of worried thought or fearful thought that I have will typically translate into unrest in my digestive tract, most often with gas and with stools eventually coming out that are softer and are harder to eliminate than the normal well formed stools. Does anyone have experience with using CBD products to improve anxiety symptoms that lead to IBS or even just using it to treat the symptoms of IBS? The gas and the issues with my stools are my primary symptoms. I don't have the bloating and the abdominal cramps that a lot of people report or other issues such as nausea or acid reflux. The cramps that I get if you want to call them that are mostly just gas pains that I'm getting in the actual lower intestinal tract and not the type that people are indicating that are more painful than just basic gas pains that people often get for a variety of reasons. Any feedback would be very much appreciated as I have done a very brief trial of CBD but don't know how much I should be really using to help with an anxiety-driven case of IBS.

  1. I feel you, my symptoms are also often caused by anxiety!
I can't share any personal experience with CBD as I haven't tried it (yet), however I know that has (she wrote about her experience here: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/cbd-oil). Here is another article about CBD massages: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/cbd-oil-massage. I've also remember reading various comments from community members who talked about the benefits of CBD oil. I hope that more people will share their experiences with you!

    1. I take CBD. It helps tremendously. I take from the brand Nutritional Frontiers. I find it helps a ton with anxiety but it has a million other benefits. Anti-inflammatory, improves sleep, gut health. I see a Naturopathic Medical Doctor and so he tells me what CBD to take and how much. I would suggest seeing an NMD in your area. Doctors are not too familiar with CBD but the wholistic world are experts. -Elizabeth (team member)
