Bloating constantly

I have daily bloating which makes me look 8 months pregnant, that would be a miracle as I am 72 and had a hysterectomy 20 years ago!!
GP surgery prescribed mebeverine and laxido, eases symptoms but the bloating remains. Any suggestions out there? Thank you

  1. I'm sorry that you're struggling with this. You're not alone, so many of us are dealing with bloating. Here are a couple of suggestions that you could explore: How does your diet look at the moment? Have you tried eliminating gluten and/or dairy? I used to get bloated constantly until I cut out gluten completely. // Have you been tested for SIBO? Here's some info about that: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/getting-tested-for-sibo // This is an article all about bloating and tips to alleviate it: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/severe-bloat // And here are some ideas for healing the gut: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/missing-treatment. I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best, Karina (team member)

    1. thank you so much for answering, I haven't been tested for SIBO, I am trying cutting different food but will look at these sites you have recommended, have a good day and thanks again

      1. I hope that you'll be able to figure out what's causing the bloating soon! Please keep us updated (if you want, of course). Karina (team member)

    2. Yes, lots of bloating, gain eight inches around belly. Tried simethicone. Helps some, but not answer. Was tested for everything in above links. So Still looking. Perhaps others can chime in.

      1. Have you tried changing your diet and did it change anything at all? My dietitian also told me to always chew my food properly and avoid drinking water during meals to help with bloating, I don't know if these tips could also be helpful for you? Karina (team member)

    3. Does exercise make it worse or better?
