Sleeping issues

Hi all, new here. Have had stomach issues for 15 years. Seen specialists and multiple doctors. Had lots of tests and colonoscopys done. Any way the last few years I have been on the FODMAP diet, or trying to. But still get diareah 3 to 4 times a day, and gas. So much wiping etc has given me anal fissures, my doctor's have told me to use Sudo cream and another nappy cream. But I find both sting and make my symptoms worse. at night it wakes me up, as in itchy bum. I put these creams/ointments on then it feels like razor blades trying to sleep.can any one recommend an ointment? I know if I control the diareah for 2 days I can sleep. Thanks

  1. Sorry you are going through this. The itchy bum can be maddening! I found that a bidet was the best thing I ever did for myself. It makes such a huge difference! You can order one online for cheap. Then I found coconut oil was super helpful, but I caution trying it before asking your doctor first. -Elizabeth (team member)

    1. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Nothing is quite like getting a dry and sore anus. It hurts SO BAD. Like you're wiping an open wound. Let's just say that I am no fan! I would definitely suggest either wet wipes (flushable ones aren't really flushable and can totally ruin your plumbing) or a bidet. There are a ton of different styles and models of bidets out there. We have a very simple model but have been eyeing one of the more complicated ones. Ones that have heated water and a built in dryer! Say goodbye to Toilet paper when you can get your one butthole spa day. It'll make you look forward to going to the bathroom! I hope you've been feeling way better as of late. Feel free to let us know how things are going!

      1. Mines is so raw at mo and sore too, I use sudocrem and it helps great , the itch is awful, but cream seems to stop it , go to chemist they do diff sorts, or think in America it's called pharmacy,

        1. I (like someone else here) can also recommend a bidet to rinse your anus with warm water after a trip to the toilet. It makes such a huge difference to the sensitive skin around the anus, believe me.
