Scared of these symptoms

Hello,
I have a question. Everytime I eat I feel like I have trapped gas, and a fullness feeling on my left side abdomen, sometimes goes to my right side upper abdomen under rib cage. I have not noticed weight loss, and it has come on rather quickly around new years after having an upset stomach. My bowel movements have been normal to not normal. Though, I get more gas than stool and I feel like I have incomplete bowel movements. Sometimes they are loose, sometimes I am constipated. Sometimes I feel this fullness feeling in my right side abdomen. I do also get a “tingly” feeling on my left side after eating. Most of the time I notice this after eating. This does not hurt, and I have not noticed a lack in appetite, or energy. I have not noticed visible blood in my stool either.

Is this colon cancer? I am scared I am a healthy 29 year old white male. Thanks.

  1. And just to add, I did get a complete blood count blood test done. And all came back within normal range

    1. Appreciate you sharing and reaching out. Good that your labs came back normal. Normal labs work doesn't discount that you are having these symptoms though. Trapped gas and varying bowel movements could be cuased by a variety of factors. I'd encourage you to continue to speak with your doctor about any new, changing or concerning symptoms. 2. I have exactly the same symptoms. I had gastroenteritis 3 weeks ago and it’s been like this since then.

    1. That must be very frustrating, I'm sorry. I also take a long time to recover from any stomach bug, it's tough. Maybe you could talk to a pharmacist or even your doctor to recommend you a probiotic or something else that might help you recover? Also, if the symptoms don't go away, I'd ask for a test to make sure that there's no bacteria lingering in your gut... that happened to me once. Wishing you quick relief, Karina (team member)

  3. Get you some peppermint oil, I get mine at Dollar General. I pour two drops onto my tongue. If that’s not enough I do two more.

    1. Thanks for sharing what works for you! How are you feeling today? Karina (team member)

  4. I’m going through very similar symptoms that began late 2022. My colonoscopy in February was clean, other than a few diverticulitis spots. The problems seem to be happening in the stomach and/or small intestine, not the lowers. I have tried everything you can think of, other than prescription medications. I’m on Fodmate and Sporebiotics, apple cider vinegar pills, active charcoal pills, the list goes on…
Peppermint oil and peppermint tea do break up the bloating for a quick fix but aren’t the solution. I guess having bacterial tests done by doctor are best advice at this point. I appreciate any additional advice as well.
