Pelvic Floor Issues

Has anyone had pelvic floor issues from IBS bloating? It seems this issue is like 90% female that have this from what I have read, but was weird as a guy going through this. Not sure if anyone else was sent to see a pelvic floor specialist? I did, and was very embarrassing for me, as a guy to get a full pelvic exam from a female PA. They had me do various kegel exercises, in various positions as Physical Therapy. That seemed to help for the leakage issues. Also, not sure if anyone else also had their "parts" move more down under from the bloating-pelvic floor muscles being stretched there? For a guy, its painful getting out of a car, or sitting too long, since things get "smashed" down there, since those parts moved down to crotch instead of up front where they belong. Anyone have experience with this or suggestions? I don't want to get surgery, or get any of those "parts" removed.

  1. I have severe pressure in my pelvic along with cramping. I think between constipation and bloating that those might be the reason. It’s an ongoing struggle.

    1. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Have you done any physical therapy to help with the pressure or cramping? Karina (team member)

  2. Have you been tested for SIBO? Amazing how bloating and constipation can cause so many other issues. I feel your pain. I just wish it was more understood. I don't think they would want me to post a pic.

    1. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Has the physical therapist given you any exercises to tighten the stretched muscles? I had issues after giving birth and pelvic floor physical therapy helped a lot. I completely understand why surgery isn't really an option for you. Karina (team member)

  3. Hi Karina. Yes, I did get a series of various position legal exercises to do which did seem to help with internal functions. I do those every night now. So I recommend to others for any leakage issues. Not sure if it did much to move parts back up where they were before though. Maybe time will tell.

    1. How long have you been doing them? It's great that they help for the leakage issues! I could imagine that it would take a while to move everything back where it belongs and I really hope that you'll see some improvement over time!

  4. I have been doing them for several months now. I concluded the PT sessions. A report was sent to my urologist. I have not heard anything from them yet.

    1. Have you tried calling to see if you needed to come in again? If the issue is not resolved and it's been several months already, maybe it could help if they checked your progress and to talk about potential further treatment? Karina (team member)
