PCOS AND ENDO

I have ibs c but I also have problems with periods my whole life. I have a family history is pcos and endo and wanted to know if anyone here has these conditions and ibs and what they do for it.

  1. You are definitely not alone. The past 5ish years, I have had horrible periods and problems with reoccurring cysts on both my right and left ovaries. I had a cyst that was the size of a golf ball once. My gyno wanted to do surgery but I decided to see a Naturopathic Doctor about it. Essentially he told me cysts were due to excess Estrogen. Long story short I changed my diet and was put on supplements. Mainly I supported my liver, as the liver is what regulates Estrogen. I'm not perfect now, but I am drastically improved. No cysts anymore, but I do deal with mild period cramps. But it is a cake walk compared to what I dealt with before. -Elizabeth (team member)

    1. You're definitely not alone with this! Lots of people suffer from endometriosis and IBS especially. We have an article about the link between the two here: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/endometriosis-link, and our advocate Laura also deals with both and has written about her experience, for example here: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/ibs-endometriosis-intersect. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS and/or endometriosis or is it just a suspicion that you might have it?

      1. Just an update I have officially been diagnosed with a mild case of pcos!

        1. Thank you for updating us! How are you feeling after the diagnosis? Did your doctor suggest any treatment options? Big hugs, Karina (team member)
