I eat spicy food regularly, however, have really bad side effects with Indian food. Fine with Chinese etc. but Indian spices don’t seem to agree. What could this be?

There's probably a spice in the Indian food that is specific to the cuisine that effects your negatively. Perhaps ask what spices they use to try and narrow it down? -Elizabeth (team member)

It’s not only takeaway food, it happens when I cook Indian style food at home too. I don’t seem to be able to pin point a specific spice. But something definitely agitates my bowel!

Maybe it's the specific combination of spices that doesn't agree with you? Or could it be something else, like another ingredient you're using when you make Indian food? Karina (team member)

Any spicy sort of food seems to give me burpy hiccups.

I struggle with spicy foods, too, so my meals are usually pretty bland. Do you adapt your diet to avoid the symptoms or just deal with them when you eat spicy foods? Karina (team member)
