IBS smell?

Since 2021 I have had my stomach pain investigated and all that was found were tiny gallbladder polyps. Blood work is good and I honestly believe I have what is IBS. Yellow liquid seeps from my poop most times. It's light brown but consistency can change. The smell though smells almost like a chemical smell? No blood or anything. 2 years ago my poop smelled normal and then in 2021 it started having a strange smell to it. I have had my poop tested too btw and all normal. Just asking.

  1. Thanks for sharing and reaching out. Glad you've talked with your doctor about your symptoms and have had your stool evaluated to rule out anything else going on. Be sure to speak with your doctor about any new, changing or concerning symptoms. Have you changed your eating habits in that time? Are you eating/drinking any artificial sweeteners, soy or other chemical ingredients that may be contributing to a chemically smell?

In addition to speaking with your doctor, this article on the Bristol Stool chart may be helpful in tracking where you're at and what changes you may be seeing in your stool: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/clinical/bristol-stool-scale. 1. Haven't changed eating habits at all really. It just started happening but I will note that I do have anxiety. I even went to a heart doctor that told me I don't have any major condition. Thanks!
