What morning routines help with your IBS?

Many who suffer from IBS report that their symptoms are often worse in the morning. Mornings can involve all kinds of IBS triggers - not a good night of sleep, rushing to get ready (and maybe your family too?), stress, food (from the night before or breakfast)...

What's your story? Is your IBS worse in the morning? Do you have any tips for morning routines that have helped you?

  1. Hi ,
my IBS symptoms are also bad in the morning, after breakfast I get weird sounds and cramps in the abdomen, sometimes a bowel movement sometimes just gas being passed.

    1. I'm the same, I often get symptoms right after breakfast, although they're not always super bad. How are you able to deal with that, especially on weekdays? Thankfully, I work from home, but I used have to get up several hours earlier just to be able to deal with my morning flares at home...

  2. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I work from home too, so I just take a break when I have discomfort. Not sure how would have I handled my symptoms if I were to work from office but I guess you always find a way when put in difficult situations. I am new to this community and I think it is important to talk to people facing the same situation, this keeps you going, knowing that you are not alone.

    1. Working from home is really helpful for us with IBS, I'm glad you're able to do that. You're so right, talking about these things is so important and it's always nice to know that others are going through the same things. We're happy to have you here!

  3. I am fine in the morning...I do not eat breakfast...only a cup of black coffee. I have been drinking water before anything. Just started that because I heard that we are so dehydrated in the morning.

    1. It's nice that you don't experience symptoms in the morning and are even able to have coffee! Thank you so much for sharing.
