IBS Diagnosis ??
Have been diagnosed with IBS but at times I have Constipation. At the moment CT Scan shows that my Colon is very full & that I’m Chronically Constipated but am still having BMs that are Diahorrea. Was told that the Diahrrea is Overflow seeping from Above the Compacted Constipation. Don’t really understand this. Treatment is to cause me Diahorea for 5 days to see if that moves the Compacted Bowel. But I don’t understand as I was having Diarrhea everyday. Since taking the medication BISACODYL 10mgs twice a day sometimes I have Diarrhea & other times more Normal Movement. How do they know if this Treatment is working? I’m VERY CONFUSED right now. Am keeping a Detailed Diary of everyday to show the Dr. Only way I can see if it’s working is to do another CT Scan. Has Anyone else Suffered with both issues? Constipation & Diarrhea?? Also what do you think of my situation?? Would love to hear others comments on my situation.
Thanks for sharing and reaching out. Having the information from a CT scan is helpful and enables the medical team to see if there is a blockage, which it sounds like you have. It's great that you are documenting each day. I'd encourage you to document what you eat and drink as well as the frequency and type of bowel movements. Also, please ask your doctor for the chance to discuss your treatment plan further if you are still feeling uncertain or confused about it.
