Gas when I eat cooked cruciferous vegetables not raw

I get gas when I eat cooked broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, and this has been happening ever since I was a child. I don't get gas if I eat these foods raw. What is the cause of this and how do I stop it? When I google this question, all I can see online is to cook vegetables before eating because this helps with digestion 🙁
Thanks!

  1. That is completely backwards of what most people experience with cruciferous veggies. In fact, many IBS sufferers stay away from cruciferous veggies entirely because they are just too difficult to digest.
My only thought would be, quantity. Do you eat more when they are cooked because they take up less space in the stomach? If yes, it could just a normal reaction to the large amount of insoluble fiber that your digestive system isn't used to. Try eating a small portion (like 1/2 or even 1/3 of your usual) of cooked veggie and see if it happens.
