constipation

hi, i have a weird question : how can i constipate myself ?
i already eat almost no vegetable and fruits
i have better health when i go to toilet every 3 days
thanks guys

  1. That's not a weird question at all. I feel like with IBS-D, all I every try to do with my diet is "constipate" myself to avoid flares. What works for me are plain foods like white rice, gluten-free pasta, potatoes, chicken if I'm in a flare but also other meats and fish, bananas (especially slightly unripe ones)... I also found that iron supplements helped a lot with that, since you mentioned your iron deficiency in another comment. I hope other community members will chime in soon. Karina (team member)

    1. When I was IBS-D, I first used Immodium, then switched to Saccharomyces boulardii. S. boulardii is a yeast probiotic that's been used for decades to treat traveler's diarrhea and pediatric diarrhea. It is the active ingredient in Florastor, but I buy a less expensive version in NOW brand S. boulardii. I prefer it over Immodium because it provides these benefits:

      Actively stimulates immunity. ...
Survives antibiotics to help maintain gut health. ...
Survives the low pH environment in the stomach. ...
Does not permanently colonize the gut. ...
      Helps digestion and nutrient absorption.

Whenever I was going to be away from home for a long period, I'd constipated myself with this and it saved me 😀 Hope you find some relief that works for you very soon. In solidarity, Kim.
