Anyone else who developed prostatitis/chronic cystitis?

Yeah so my body is really testing me these past few months and I've developed periods of inflammation/pain in my urinal tract that went away and came back again. My uruologist isn't too alarmed because I have no pain while peeing/ big semen and urine testing came back negative but having constant pain in my genital regions is now also haunting me. I read that this is actually rather common to develope with IBS!? I never knew and now my doctors can add a new symptom on my growing list.

Anyone else?

  1. Hi , you're not alone with this. Several of our community members deal with similar issues, we even have an article about it: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/clinical/bladder-problems. I'm so sorry that you developed yet another set of symptoms. Have you heard back from that specialized hospital your doctor wanted to enquire about? Sending hugs, Karina (team member)

    1. I sure will. I don't get my hopes up tho. They have 6 beds available for "detective cases" ... 6! That's for all of Germany combined :-/ I'll have to make a really significante case to even have a chance.

    2. 6 beds is not a lot... 🙁 do you know how long they keep people? Maybe you could at least get on a waiting list or something? Karina (team member)

  2. I just had a realisation. I was wondering why my prostatitis got worse 2 weeks after summer vacation and now I realise that I've most likely aggravated it with my cheap bike (bad saddle/no suspension) 2 times a day - once on my way to work and once on my way back :-/ I need a new bike with a good seat ASAP.

    1. Already bought a new saddle that puts no pressure on my groin. Seeing as I was just cycling to the bike shop and climbed off my bike with pain ... yeah, that could be part of the problem for sure.

    2. It's good that you caught that and now have a better saddle. Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the pain. You really deserve some relief. Hugs, Karina (team member)
