Abdominal cramps

Hi all, I was diagnosed with IBS 10 years ago and have had occasional flare-ups which are now becoming more frequent. I am awaiting a colonoscopy and take immodium when required. Which is more often of recent times. I have over the past couple of months suffered with abdominal cramps and am wondering if anyone has had much success with buscopan cramps medication. I am taking peppermint oil capsules at the moment. Any advice please. TIA

  1. Hi Yvonne, cramps are no fun! I have not tried the buscopan medication. I strongly recommend that you speak to a doctor about what you could take to help with the cramping. My other piece of advice would be to seek out a nutritionist that specializes in gut health. A specialist in particular will help you find foods that work with your body and gut and not against it. Let us know how your progress is and best of luck! Well wishes, Michaela (irritablebowelsyndrome.net Team Member)

    1. Hi Michaels thank you very much for your reply I am as yet reluctant to try Buscopan and have decided to wait until I have my colonoscopy which is in ten days time.I have seen a dietitian who agrees it’s better to wait, thanks for your concern.
