Yellow Poop

Hello everyone. I have had worse IBS mixed ever since my coeliac diagnosis in 2021. In this most recent flare-up, I have been struggling to eat due to early satiation and feeling sick, and my poo is bright yellow and soft with intermittent yellow diarrhoea. I am usually constipation predominant with occasional diarrhoea bouts, so this is new for me. I got yellow poop during my gluten challenge in 2021, but not since. I have a pretty limited GF diet, and have been on a strict low fodmap zero caffeine, zero oats elimination diet the past two weeks since the problem started, but I'm so far no better, and have lost 5lb in two weeks, even though there wasn't actually that much diarrhoea. I can't think of any way I would have been cross-contaminated other than i used to use the same toaster for GF oat bread. I take omeprazole and was found to be borderline B12 deficient six months ago but haven't been checked since. Any thoughts on the situation would be welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Based on your description and my personal experience, I'd suggest seeing your doctor and getting a stool test and maybe some blood work done. Since you keep feeling sick and losing weight, there might be something else going on, maybe an infection that needs to be treated? I hope you'll get some relief soon. Sending hugs, Karina (team member)

    1. Aw, thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š I got an appointment with the doctor very quickly, and that's what they are going to do. x

    2. That's great! 😀 Will you keep us updated after your appointment? Karina (team member)

  2. Thanks for your support ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm sure the tests will show nothing and the GP will tell me to go away and keep looking at my diet to see what other nutritious foods I must cut out from it to avoid symptoms. But I will certainly give an update ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I hope not, but I feel you, this happens way too often. 🙁 Karina (team member)
