pasta and IBS-C

I have been following the low fodmap diet which indicates GF pasta is the best. But, I do know rice can be quite binding for me. Does anyone have experience with GF pasta that does not cause constipation? I did see quinoa pasta, but noticed it also has rice. I was just wondering since it is a combination would it be better for me.

  1. I have the opposite issue with IBS-D, but I'm also gluten-free and quinoa pasta does not work for me at all. I need the binding element of rice. So I think it might potentially be a better option for you.
I've also seen pasta made of lentils or chickpeas which might be an option.
Ultimately, you also need to see if eating gluten-free makes you feel better. If it doesn't, you might as well eat normal pasta. I personally saw a very big improvement when I stopped eating wheat.
