Mild ibs anyone?

Does anyone have a mild ibs case if so what are your symptoms?

  1. Great question! Be sure to speak with your doctor about any symptoms you're having, if you haven't already. In addition to speaking with your doctor and any feedback you receive here, this article on common IBS symptoms (with additional links) may be helpful: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/symptoms. 1. Mine might be milder than some people I have heard of. Though I wish it wasn't there at all, and convincing myself that it's "mild" during a flare-up is hard work!

I get "phases" of it. I can go weeks with no symptoms at all, then suddenly get a horrible flare. Those can last anywhere from 1 day, to on-and-off for a month. Then I'll be fine again, and maybe even fine for anything up to 6 weeks or so!
During my "okay" times, I have normal bm's and can eat anything really, though I always eat healthy foods. But things that upset me during a flare are fine again to eat and enjoy.

I don 't get much in the way of pain, and even frequent bm's with IBS-D are maximum 4 a day. It's horrible when it happens, makes me so exhausted and shaky, but I always think of those much worse off than myself.

      1. I'm right there with you! I consider my IBS to be fairly mild compared to others, but when flares happen they don't feel mild! It's nice to feel grateful that we don't have it as bad as others, but it doesn't take away how frustrating it can be. Empathy for others as well as yourself is important.
