  1. I basically have IBS D, but most often not definitely diarrhea, just chronically too-loose stool. I (so far fingers crossed) don't get horrible urgency or accidents. But I do get flatulence, sometimes trapped wind, my lower tummy swells up sometimes, and in the evenings after dinner I often get discomfort low down in my abdomen about 4 hours after eating. That might be gas moving. It's not painful, just uncomfortable. Passing wind can help but it usually goes away anyway in an hour or two.
A good thing is there are no other bad signs in my stools, and they do not have a bad smell, and when I pass wind it has no bad smell either.
Neither do I have any signs of malnutrition or vitamin /mineral deficiency, even though my diet is more restricted than it ought to be.

I can also get: heart palpitations, exhaustion, a feeling a bit like anxiety, slight dizziness sometimes, sensitivity to weather especially dark grey skies, and low pressure rainy weather, and the thaw after snow.

    1. yes much better. I guess these episodes are flare ups?

    2. That's what I would call them at least. I'm so glad to hear that you're doing better.
All the best, Karina (team member)

  2. Yes that's just like me. Sometimes I am quite normal! But I still have to be careful what I eat even if I am.
Ugh....the rain. One good thing is there can be lovely sunshine in between the rainstorms, and it's not yet cold here, which it can be at this time of year.

    1. That's true, we get some sunshine between rain storms as well and it's nice to have that at least. I hope you had a lovely weekend! Karina (team member)

  3. My flare-ups are in the morning when I have to go somewhere. Not diarrhea, just multiple trips to the bathroom. I've been dealing with IBS for 47 years.

    1. me too about 40 years

    2. Sorry to hear it's been so long dealing with this. Do you have a morning routine that works for you? -Elizabeth (team member)

  4. Some, now that I retired. I try to schedule things late morning which had helped. Also, my doctor told me that almost 80% of people with IBS are gluten intolerant. Going GF has made a big difference.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing! For anyone interested, we have this article written by our Health Leader about his experience with EMDR: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/my-experience-with-emdr-therapy. I hope this helps.
