I'm having a GI endoscopy tomorrow

I'm a bit nervous, as I've never had one before. What are your experiences if you've had one? Is it that painful? And I heard it can make you burp. What sort of burps? Will they come out uncontrollably or loud or gross? It's a little undignifying to say the least.
