How long are your "bad" flare-ups?

My latest flare-up is about 6 weeks old and I'm about to get very tired of it (it basically surprises me on a daily basis after which meal I get bloated and have hurting intestines). Luckily meditation/meal-spacing/FODMAP-diet/walks and - recently discovered squat-seating all help a lot but I do wonder how long this will go on. During bad flare-ups I always get a hint of that typical "but what if this flare-up will just persist for good"-fear. My last flare-up before that I had around october and it took me around 4-5 weeks to get over that one (meaning this one is already longer). In between those two flares I had way to many carbs and sugar for my own good (not too excessive but obviously too much for me) which makes me calmer (because I know the reason this time) .... but I don't really feel that good about it either way.

So how long are your bad flare-ups?
AND
Do you feel like you do anything special (discover/try something new) or do they just dissapear on their own sometimes?

  1. Hi, my recent flare up is starting to get a lot better now , I was 7/8 weeks there and it was awful, bad constipation breathlessness, heart palpitations, depression, dizzy/faint feelings, crying, not a lot of pain tho, in bed early at night with hot water bottle at stomach trying to get fullness relief, but a few weeks back I tried my first ever peppermint tea and it helped so so much ,told doctor and she gave me peppermint oil capsules which are very good too, and a few omeprazole tablets which helped as I had heartburn as well, cant win, anyway starting to feel normal , still kinda constipated but not as bad, not back to my full normal self but loads better and happier , hang on in there x

    1. Thanks for the reply. Peppermint tea didn't help me so far. Maybe I'll try again in the future.
My main problem is bloating/belching, a little bit of farting and a "full" feeling/pain in my stomach after eating. So basically it's also about gas.
