My old buddy

My old buddy was a pain...in the gut and butt. It appeared at the tender age of 5...my mom was newly married and the relationship was toxic and physically abusive. I would rock in my bed to comfort myself and try to stop the pain. Always I would end up making numerous trips to the bathroom.

Monstrous "buddy"

To this day (I am a grandmother) any violence or verbal abuse I am in the bathroom. For HOURS. The unwelcome visitor became a frequent companion - for life. My gut and bowels are very hyperactive with spasms. Cold drinks, ice cream, salads, chocolate, nuts and other foods feed my monstrous "buddy."

We all need encouragement

I have been hospitalized several times when it was severe. I take Bentyl for the spasms and increased my fiber. I still have the issues. I now have ulcers, and a few years back a very drastic surgery on my esophagus for diverticulitis. I too, have days when I stay put. Every other day I am on guard. My buddy emerges pretty regularly. I am glad I am not alone in this battle. We all need encouragement!!
