Does anyone else experience multiple watery bowel movements after a regular one

Over the last ten days I have this happen to me twice where I will have a regular bowel movement then about 30 mins later I will the need to go again. Only this time I have watery bowel movement, and usually I will have total of 3 of these. Should I be concerned and what should I do. I do have hernia and I read that they can interfere with bowel movements.

  1. Yup... me. Its what led me to contact every doctor again and do more imaging which again came out normal but it just felt so wrong.

The gurgling sounds, the liquid diarrhea, the cramping was horrible. Sorry you are going through it.

I was taking Immodium after the diarreah. Helped big time. Stopped bowel movement. Constipation next day. Normal stool day #2 or 3, then boom diarrhea again. Started Metamucil. That started helping bulk up the stools.

My GI doc basically said my colon was having spasms and my IBS was flaring up.

Immodium and rice & banana was the trick for me. Now instead of Immodium Im taking Hyoscyamine and doing other things like metamucil

Get your diarreah under control then work on the rest.

    1. Have you noticed if this happens after eating certain foods? For me, this is usually a sign that I ate something triggering after eating a safe meal, so my digestive system tries to get rid of everything (at least that's how it feels).
Keeping a food journal, such as this one you can download: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/food-journal-download, might help you figure out the culprit if there is one.
Have you seen a doctor about this? I'm not sure if you already have an IBS diagnose or if these are new symptoms, as it's always best to get anything new checked out.
We also have this article about IBS and hernia: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/hernia, I just wanted to share that in case it might be helpful.
