Rifaximin?

Anybody got better using this antibiotics?

i read it can be taken in two ways :
-one week, 800mg per day
- two weeks, 1200mg per day

the second possibility is used to cure dysbiosis, that is one of the main causes of IBS.

any experience?

  1. Hi - Thanks for your question! While we wait for others to respond, I thought I'd share a couple of articles where our writers have mentioned their experience with rifaximin: https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/could-food-poisoning-be-the-cause-of-your-ibs/, https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/sibo-treatment-cured-my-ibs/, & https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/prescribed-ibs-treatments-tried-did-they-work/. In terms of dosage, we'd encourage you to determine that with your healthcare provider. Take care. - Chris, IrritableBowelSyndrome.net Team

    1. I took 6 days rifaxamin and very well I was 1 month well
      but the symptoms returned

      1. Did you go off the rifaxamin and then your ibs came back. I can't take it too expensive. I take immodium, I'm actually taking 4 at a time, but the minute I stop my symptoms return with a vengance. I'm also taking anti-depressants. Life is not that great, I'm almost housebound. I wish I could find a good Dr. that would take an interest in how I feel.
