Help!! Done every kind of test and scan but still can't eat!

I have done an endoscopy, colonoscopy, an ultrasound of my abdomen, and a hida scan gallbladder test and have seen a GI multiple times. It all comes down to IBS. I have bad indigestion an hourish after eating, mainly triggered worse by fatty foods, but still comes up no matter what I eat. I also get a little nauseous, and have constipation and inability to pass gas, which causes pain in my lower abdomen. I cut out the fatty foods yet still get discomfort. I have been dealing with this for months now with it only slightly getting better. Any advice? Thank you!

  1. Hi figatech,

I am so sorry to hear you're experiencing so much pain. It can be extremely frustrating when you exhaust all tests and the diagnosis of IBS leaves more questions...and discomfort! Although we cannot offer medical advice (for your safety), I would like to suggest that you explore food plans specific for IBS (such as low FODMAP diet), as these can offer some relief for many IBS sufferers. In addition, I'm sharing a link to an article on some natural ways to manage IBS symptoms. https://irritablebowelsyndrome.net/living/how-manage-ibs-symptoms-natural-way/
I'm curious if you've been tested for SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) during your testing? If not, this may be something to bring up with your doctor. It is being researched as a possible cause of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and has become widely studied. In the meantime, I hope you find the information in the article helpful, and please check back in and let us know how you're doing.
