39 years of prayer finally answered

Hello. I’m new to this group and am very grateful. If I may share my story, I would love to. Over the past 39 years I have dealt with constant, urgent diarrhea, severe reflux and heartburn. Numerous colonoscopies, colo-rectal surgery, medications, countless doctors-all to no relief. Nothing every worked. I had to quit me job and basically stayed home. After all of these years, I was finally referred to an allergist/immunologist that truly listened to me and understood. (I’ve probably seen 20 plus doctors over the years for just this). She knew right away what was going on and had me tested.

After bloodwork and a bone marrow biopsy, she had the answer that I so desperately searched for over 39 years. I have mast cell activation. Not IBS. I cried and so did my husband. She put me on two medications and my life has changed completely!!! I can now leave the house without worrying about urgent and often no warning of bm’s. I pray that this will be allowed to be shared as someone out there may have the same issue that I have. Not all of my tests were positive but my tryptase level was elevated enough. The medication has changed my attitude, my life perspective, and gave me my life back. My thoughts are with all of you as you face all the challenges that come along with IBS.
