My story: Staring my dysfunctional gut!

Hello, my name is Laura and I have IBS. For starters, my condition does not define me. So a little bit about me is that I love being busy. This can include taking dance classes, doing photo shoots, and keeping my own blog updated. Saying this, my IBS sometimes taken away these beloved activities on a bad flare day. I am constantly at doctors appointments and taking care of myself when I can.

Though I’m still a busy bee, my fatigue from the pain does take a toll on me. I have IBS (c) which sucks when you are a self conscious teen girl who is a ballet dancer! I also get iron infusions every six months because due to my IBS my colon is poor at absorbing iron. All of these IBS factors, are not fun. But the one thing I have learned from my IBS, is that it’s fine to suffer and be okay. It’s okay to stay goofy and silly when your body is failing on you. It’s 100% okay to rest and get help. IBS has taught me a sense of awareness of myself. IBS is something I deal with, but it doesn’t have to control me all the time.
