Coping

I just got diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis last month, I started seeing a gastroenterologist two years ago. It has been frustrating and painful, physically and emotionally. I had three upper endoscopic procedures and two colonoscopies before it was determined to be Colitis. I’m anemic despite taking iron pills everyday. I changed my diet and stopped drinking alcohol and any thing else acidic. I eat a lot of vegan food, I’m able to digest it better. I don’t eat anything greasy, before I got diagnosed I lost over twenty pounds, I have always been small so therefore I can’t afford to lose weight. Whenever i have a flare up I can’t keep anything down and my stomach hurts so bad. I have not had a flare up in a month, just praying it’s in remission and I can have a bit of peace. Good luck to everyone, keep your heads up.
