"Further to my post of 5 months ago, I have had my 5 yearly colonoscopy and other than having diverticula, all was normal as usual. However, other than knowing that my stomach pains were not caused by anything sinister, I am having more flare-ups than ever. The pain manifests itself only at night, usually 3am, and is between my belly button and my groin, sometimes the left lower quadrant and sometimes the lower right quadrant. Going to the toilet does not lessen the pain but a heated blanket does help. The pain usually has gone by around 9am. I’m on FODMAP and my latest blood tests show that I’m prediabetic but not on any medication for that for now. By the way, the pain is best described as being stabbed by a knife; it’s bad enough to wake me up. Has anyone had any experience with being prediabetic and having IBS flare-ups?"
